There's always more on the horizon and the following events are coming up for participants in the PIB.
October Trade Mission
October 29-30 2024, Trade Mission, Athens, Greece
From October 29-30, in cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Athens and the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG), the NIDV will organize a trade mission aimed at opportunities in the air domain.
On October 29th, several speakers will hold presentations about the ambitions, lessons, and success stories regarding the F-35. In addition, the Dutch and Greek companies will get the chance to introduce themselves through a short presentation and to take part in B2B/B2G meetings. Of course we'll end the day with a few drinks.
On October 30th the delegation will visit the Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI). Here, the companies will have a chance to meet with Greek government representatives and HAI procurement officers to discuss future opportunities.

November 30th 2023, NIDV Exhibition Defence & Security (NEDS) 2023
The NIDV looks back on a succesful exhibition with 150+ exhibiting companies, 3500+ visitors, and 36 international delegations including a Hellenic delegation of government and industry representatives.

Past activities
May 9th-11th, 2023, DEFEA Defence Exhibition, Athens, Greece
DEFEA is a biennial defence exhibition where international companies present land, naval, aerospace, national and cyber security defence systems. The event took place May 9th – 11th in Athens and was organised under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence.
DEFEA featured 346 exhibitors from 28 countries, 32 official governmental and military delegations and thousands of visitors from 78 countries.
The Netherlands was present with a national pavilion that hosted 27 Dutch companies. Of these, 16 are members of the PIB DCDS Greece. The four enterprises that joined the PIB programme over the last month (A.I. Armaments, BSC Group, Fokker Services Group and Secura), had the opportunity to perform an elevator pitch during the opening ceremony.
The Netherlands Government was represented by Vice Admiral Arie Jan de Waard, National Armament Director and by Mr. Jan Christiaan Dicke, Commissioner Military Production. The Netherlands Industry was represented by NIDV Director, Mr. Hans Huigen.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands, Mr. Susanna Terstal, was present on the first day of the exhibition and together with VADM de Waard, Mr. Dicke and Mr. Huigen, officially opened the Netherlands pavilion.
All companies participating in this mission plus all the other PIB members that provided the necessary information, were promoted in the “Netherlands participation at DEFEA” booklet that included a full-page profile of each company. This booklet, available both in printed and in electronic version via a QR code, was distributed during the matchmaking and also available in several spots of the Netherlands Pavilion.

May 8th 2023, Innovation Matchmaking Event European Defence Fund Greece – The Netherlands, Athens, Greece
This event took place in Athens at the Hellenic Armed Forces Officers Club, was based on the existing PIB DCDS programme and was organised by RVO, in coordination with CMP, MOD, NIDV and the Netherlands Embassy.
The main objective of this matchmaking was to improve the cooperation between Hellenic and Dutch companies and knowledge institutions on themes relevant to the 2023 Work Programme of the European Defence Fund (EDF). Further, through this event, the Dutch government was aiming to foster and further stimulate government to government talks to explore areas of common interest and synergy.
A total of 59 enterprises registered in this event, 27 from the Netherlands and 32 from Greece. Close to 200 B2B meetings took place during the day, of which 165 had been scheduled in the previous days through RVO’s B2Match platform, while additional ones were arranged there and then. Further meetings and follow-up discussions were also planned to happen during DEFEA.
Overall, the working day was very productive for the Government as well as for the industry, with a lot of promise for future international cooperation.
