Mexico is actively advancing its water management systems, with a focus on three key areas: water scarcity, wastewater treatment, and infrastructure development. with over 77% of Mexico's population living in regions where water resources are under increasing demand, particularly in urban areas, the need for innovative and sustainable solutions is urgent. In response, Mexico has introduced the Water National Plan 2024-2030, which outlines a strategic framework to ensure long-terms water security and resilience accross the country.
Water scarity remains a central priority for improvement under this plan, and the Netherlands, a global leader in water management, is an ideal partner to support Mexico in achieving its objectives. Through the Public-Private Partnership, the Dutch water sector offers cutting edge solutions that align with the goals of the national plan, supporting efforts to enhance water access, ptimise infrastructure, and build resilience to climate change.
