The matchmaking on November 29th was organised by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) in cooperation with the NIDV. This event comprised both EDF-matchmaking in the morning for those eligible for and interested in the European Defense Fund and broader, global matchmaking in the afternoon. 18 countries took part in the matchmaking and well over 200 meetings were held on this first day.
The symposium also took place in the afternoon of the 29th. Here, speakers from the Netherlands Ministry of Defense, the Defense and Security industry, and other important players in the sector held presentations on a variety of sustainability-related issues.
The NEDS itself, scheduled on November 30th, was a success with more than 165 exhibitors, 36 international delegations and 3500+ visitors. The exhibition premises hosted a large international pavilion dedicated to the PIB countries, Greece, Malaysia and South Korea. This pavilion included a meeting room where participating companies and delegations from the PIB countries could gather and meet potential customers/business partners.
A South Korean Delegation travelled to the Netherlands to take part in the NEDS 2023 as well. This delegation was comprised of representatives from the embassy as well as the Director of Naval systems and the Chief executive officer of the Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). Also attending were representatives from Changwon city, the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), and the Korea Research Institute for Defense Technology Planning and Advancement (KRIT).
The delegation made great use of the conference room attached to the international pavilion to meet with PIB members during the NEDS. These meetings contributed to one of the PIB’s primary activities of generating new leads for future cooperation and partnerships, strengthening the defense ties between South Korea and the Netherlands.
Achieved results will lead to new insights and initiatives, paving the way for the next steps of the multi-level defense cooperation between our countries.
