September 13, 2024 - Deliveries of Malaysia's 18 FA-50M jets on track for 2026 - When asked whether the ministry planned to acquire additional air assets besides the FA-50M, he said that this would depend on the RMAF's plans and the country's finances. "Under RMAF's CAP55, we have listed the requirements (for the purchase of air assets). We hope the government can meet the needs as previously planned by the ministry," he said. Read more

September 12, 2024 - Malaysia Ready To Collaborate With Other Nations In Defence Technology - Mohamed Khaled - Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin stated that realising this focus does not necessarily mean Malaysia must become a producer of defence assets like other developing nations, instead, the country will focus on offering a variety of service platforms within the defence industry. “Therefore, the government’s current focus is more on carrying out maintenance, repair and overhaul services, component manufacturing and concentrating on defence technology and assets,” he said. September 12, 2024 - More Support Vehicles and Firearms for Army- As mentioned in previous posts, the Army is expected to purchase more support  vehicles and firearms. And the latest support vehicles being sought are air-defence command trucks and howitzer towers. I am assuming the five three-tonne air defence command trucks being sought are additions to the ones already in service. Read more

September 5, 2024 - New Civil Leaderships in Home and Defence Ministries- Barely three days before the first anniversary of his appointment to the Defence Ministry as the secretary-general, DS Isham Ishak, 54, has been appointed to the same position at the Agriculture and Food Securities Ministry. He is replaced at Jalan Padang Tembak (Ministry of Defence) by Lokman Hakim Ali, 51, who had served in the same position in that ministry. Read more

September 2, 2024 - New Acting Malaysian Chief of Navy Appointed- IPOH: Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Ayob officially handed over the
leadership of the Royal Malaysian Navy to Vice Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Ithnain, who is the new Acting Chief of Navy. Liaison’s Remarks: He will be formally appointed as the new Chief of Navy next week and will be at NEDS in November. Read more
