Access to safe and clean water
Access to safe and clean water is an essential part of human rights and the foundation for a healthy life. However, today, people around the world face unprecedented challenges to water access exacerbated by climate change. Water and climate change are inextricably linked. According to the World Economic Forum, “smart” water solves these issues, including leak detection, water efficiency, energy efficiency, and water quality improvements. Developing innovative ways to purify and reuse water is proposed as the most cost-effective way to mitigate climate change and ensure the availability and sustainable management of water for all.
Cross-country collaborations and partnerships
As the planet strives to mitigate climate change, it is imperative that the Netherlands and the United Kingdom embrace their long-standing relationships and together pave the way for a more sustainable future. The Netherlands aims to enhance cross-country collaborations and partnerships between water alliances worldwide. The UK government is planning and developing flagship projects that include circular water and wastewater management while at the same time, ensuring 50 million households receiving good quality of water. By equipping UK and Dutch businesses in the water sector with the tools they need to implement circular water management solutions, we contribute to clean and safe water for everyone!
